 "Purify the inside first, then the outside, too, will be purified"

It means that true cleanliness or righteousness must begin with inner moral

and spiritual cleansing, not with mere outward appearances or actions.

Acts of charity and service to others, are seen as direct service to Jesus himself.

The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary

At the Visitation, Elizabeth calls Mary “mother of my Lord.”

As in all the mysteries of Mary’s life,

She is Mother of God, because she is closely associated as the New Eve with Jesus’ redemptive work,

because of her preeminent perfection, and because of her intercessory power.

Jesus uses the image of fire to describe the transformative and sometimes disruptive impact of his message.

It signifies the Holy Spirit's purifying and renewing power, but also the division and conflict that can arise

when people are challenged to choose between worldly values and the teachings of Christ.
