 "Seeing with faith."

Jesus looks at me and speaks my name! Can I hear him?

Do I have a sense of the depth of his love for me as he speaks my name?

As Christians, our life now is a whole new life with God which enables us to proclaim,

along with Mary Magdalene, that we have truly seen the Lord.

Jesus washing his disciplines’ feet during the last supper. He taught through action in this act of humility and service.

“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you (John 13:15).”

Christ washed his disciples' feet, that he might signify to them the value of spiritual washing, and the cleansing of the soul from the pollutions of sin.

Peter begs to be washed by Christ. How earnest he is for the purifying grace of the Lord Jesus, and the full effect of it, even upon his hands and head!

"Lord, may we always live in the joy and hope of the resurrection."
The resurrection was a joyful occasion for the disciples.
It is the vindication of their beliefs.

The invitation of Jesus is to go to Galilee and there 'they will see him'.
It's the same invitation he gives to us.
'Galilee' we find ourselves aware of Jesus' presence.
We find God in the old and familiar places of life, as the apostles found him once again in Galilee.

It was at Passover time that Jesus came to Jerusalem

knowing he would be betrayed and put to death

as the "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world"

Jesus knew what was to come, and yet he still chose to share

the Passover meal with his disciples, including Judas.

The glory of God that has now been revealed through the vindication of Jesus risen from the dead.
"If Christ has not been raised, then empty is our preaching; empty, too, is your faith."
                                                                                                 (1 Corinthians 15:14)

As part of Christ's rising from the dead, he shed his old burial clothes like the snake that shed its skin, both becoming bright and vibrant.
Easter invites us to put on vibrant new garments — essentially, to "put on Christ."

“Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

Throughout his ministry, Jesus sought to teach people that God was a caring and loving Father,

not a stern and unforgiving judge, nor a vengeful and uncaring deity.

The Prologue in the Gospel of John tells us of God’s profound love for the world which led him to send his Son to redeem it.

This is the Passion of an absolutely innocent victim who,

transform it to energies of love, and return it as redemptive grace.

The woman who anoints Jesus engages in an individual act of extravagant devotion,

but Jesus interprets the action as anticipating his burial.
