Jesus washing his disciplines’ feet during the last supper. He taught through action in this act of humility and service.

“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you (John 13:15).”

Christ washed his disciples' feet, that he might signify to them the value of spiritual washing, and the cleansing of the soul from the pollutions of sin.

Peter begs to be washed by Christ. How earnest he is for the purifying grace of the Lord Jesus, and the full effect of it, even upon his hands and head!

 The religious authorities are now perplexed at the mighty works that Jesus performs. It attracted a great following.

Soon the Roman conquerors will take notice and perhaps suppress the Jesus movement.

They can only think of their own survival, of the preservation of their privileges.

They miss the significance of Jesus’ actions.

All of Jesus leads us to his divine origin, the Son and Word of God.

They charged him with blasphemy because he claimed to be the Son of God and he made himself equal with God.

Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, including the feet of Judas Iscariot.

Jesus loved his disciples until the end and his love showed no discrimination.

Jesus announces to his own people that the good news of God.

The good news is Jesus in your life.

The Lord Yahweh has taught me

 Joseph comes from the House of David. he is a man of few words.

It was prophesied that the Messiah would be from the stock of David.

In his silence, Joseph participated in God’s salvific plan with full humility.

Joseph shows a submissive stance to the will of God.

During this Lenten Season, let us be silent as we continue to contemplate on the mystery of the passion of the Lord.

Let us give space for the Lord to speak to us and be docile to His will as in the example of Joseph.
